This week I released the video for my poem, "for every Black Woman who been called Angry" and I am thrilled about it. It's been a journey from writing, recording, memorizing, performing, slamming to this video. The clips in the beginning show how relevant the stereotype of the angry black woman still is. As Black people we are entitled to express our discontent, our annoyance, our frustration, our straight up anger about oppression, injustice, microaggressions, personal struggles and anything else. I believe that anger doesn't need to be a negative emotion and Black people should never be dismissed because of it. We can use it fuel our pursuit for change in our lives, in our country, in this world.
Special thanks to Robert Cooper, Mike Banks, and Eli Ouderkirk for working with me on this project! Thank you to all the supporters! Enjoy.
P.S. Get on YouTube and share with someone :)
